I'm no expert, but ERP skill will definitely NOT do you any harm. Certainly in the UK and the US it is still a very hot (and growing) area.

As for SCWCD preparation.... you can't go wrong with the HFS book. Its one of the best study guides I've ever read. Also, get yourself a decent exam simulator (e.g. whizlabs etc) and I'm sure you'll be fine.

Thanks,

Neil.

Howdy Priyakant
I'm with Neil on this--working in ERP will definitely not be a *bad* thing , and it sounds like you are working for a good company. [side note: Bert worked for Baan several years ago]. You do not have to be in a hurry to pass SCWCD; this is still a new exam and new J2EE specification, so you have plenty of time. And the book is not going anywhere either, so we will all still be here when you are ready to really dive in and prepare.

Cheers and good luck with everything,
Kathy
(p.s. thanks for your comments Neil )

I waited to get the HFS book to sit for the SCWCD exam and now I've been
asked to work in Microsoft NAVISION ERP . I need to get the certifications
in NAVISION for my job. Well this has caused to postpone my SCWCD exam by a few months, but I will do it .

Priyankant rest assured.

Kathy, I did start studying for HFS right 3 days back. Almost all the concepts are stuck to my bulletin board(MY BRAIN). I would really thank you for a wonderful book again. Your book for SCJP was really good that helped me a lot. I started my career in Mechanical Engineering and shifted to Software side. I do have 2 certifications one whick i owe for your wonderful java book. This book is really really good. I makes me read it as i would be curious to know about what happens in Harry Potter story. Once again do keep writing good books like this.
