If a servlet run this code:

request.setAttribute("none", "");

this EL expressions will evaluate to true?

${empty none}

You are right It will evaluate (and print) true.

What happened if you do ${a.b.c} and c attribute does not exist?

I didn't execute your statement but the specification says that if c property doesn't exist you should receive an error.
