Given..
<% page isELIgnored="true">
What is the affect?

I found the answer to this question with the best answer as this

"This page directive will only turn off EL evaluation if the DD declares a <el-ignored>true</el-ignored>element with a URL pattern that includes this JSP."

My thoughts:

<% page isELIgnored="true">

if you mention this in a JSP page, I believe it is going to disable the EL written in the page. My question is do we really need to define the EL in DD if you define the same in a page directive.

Hi Madhu,
I think if we declare "isELIgnored" with a page directive, then there is no need to declare in DD regarding <el-ignored>.
Because in Page 320, it was given that "page directive takes priority over the DD setting".
So I think the best answer for Question 6 of page 336 is "D"(The JSP containing this directive should NOT have any Expression Language code evaluated by the JSP Container).
The answer might not be "E" because there is no need to declare explicitly in DD.

cheers,
Sudhakar.
