Hello everyone,

Any suggestions on how to learn servlets from scratch. I am somehow not comfortable with sun's tutorial's. it uses very lengthy examples.

Hi Deepak,
If you are looking from an exam point of view, try to get the "Head First Servlets and JSP" book which covers details about writing and running a servlet in Tomcat 5.0 !!!

Well, my idea is not to just clear the exam but also get a good understanding as well. I am planning to take the exam in 2 months. so for the first month, I just want to explore the complete stuff and after that in the last month I plan to study specfically for the certification..........

i think to start with the book "java servlet programming" by oreilly would do you good.
From exam point of view - i referred to the book - SCWCD study kit by "hanumant deshmukh".
I feel a single book is not enough; you have to learn from a learning point of view, and then go for a book that is examination specific.

Ankush

This is a good book, but it focuses on 1.3 exam. For the 1.4 version, HF is the best book.

Deepak, You can still use the HF book for learning Servlets and JSP's because that starts from the basics
