Will Java Ranch ever consider to start a MySQL forum?

I'm doubting it. The majority of MySQL problems get managed in the JDBC forum, and the ones that don't fit usually fall into the Tomcat (ClassNotFound) realm.
That pretty much covers our MySQL requirements. I had a MySQL question related to running it on Linux, but I dropped it into the Linux forum, since it could have been about running almost anything on Linux...
Was there a requirement for the forum not covered above? We tend to restrict new forums by requiring that we prove the need for it first, and I haven't seen that in relation to MySQL.

In fact, we don't have a forum for any database. The Oracle forum is for Oracle/OAS, their app server.

Tom,
Thanks for the reply! Very informative! Ok... for future reference, I will contact the JDBC & Linux sections for MySQL.
Thanks,
Unnsse
