I am all set to start preparing for SCWCD 1.4. I have got the HF Servlets and JSP book. Downloaded The SPECS (Servlets 2.4, JSP 2.0, JSTL 1.1).
Is this all I need to get through the exam?
What about practicing the concepts? I see forums on Tomcat and what version of JDK is required. Can somebody tell me how important it is to install Tomcat and practice? Can you just read the theory from the book and the pass the exam? From where do i downlaod tomcat? which verion?
Thanks

You have all the ammunition. If you can try some of the examples, write some sample code, then you would probably make the learning process a little more interesting(realistic).

If you are new to Servlets and JSPs, then u definitely have to do some practicals.. I mean most of the stuff that's covered in the HFS. In the first chapter, the authors give some hints about setting up tomcat and running the webapps...
