I am reading Head First Servlets and JSP for SCWCD1.4 exam and planning to sit for the exam next week.
Are there any topics that are in the exam but not covered in the Head First book?
Thanks

Hi Sylvia,

Sorry, I can not help you. I have not started yet.

I can not imagine it. Do you really think that it is enought to lear one week? I guess you are also familiar with JSP and Servlet.

I have no clue about JSP and Servlet in depth. That is why I guess that it will take me longer.

Anyway wishing you all the best.

Lucy

Hi,

The answer to Sylvia's question is: Yes! There are some (hope - veeery few of them ) topics that may appear on the exam, but not covered in HSF. One of the guys who passed SCWCD 1.4 wrote, that some knowledge of dynamic-attributes may be useful on the exam. Guess it would also be a good thing to know something about <jsp:invoke> action (used in tag files) and I'm not sure how about variables (related to tags).

Cheers,
Krzysiek

I can answer for a few of them, as i'm preparing now:

- dynamic attributes, part of the exam, not covered in HFSJ (but question about them in the chapter 10 Mock exam);
- jsp:invoke (idem : in the exam, not cover in book, but question in chapter 10 mock exam)
- variable directive : in exam, not covered in HFSJ, but question in the chapter 10 mock exam.
- XML-view of JSP documents : Covered in book page 597. Very few, but with a RELAX box saying the minimum is required for the exam.

This list is NOT EXHAUSTIVE. (Well it may be, but i do NOT guarantee it).
