Hi I have some questions which are still not very clear to me !

1. What is the manifest file ?
2. Why do we need the manifest file?
3. Is it mandatory to have it ?
4. When does it get created ( i mean we certainly don't write it in a text editor, it must be getting generated automatically)
5. What is the use of META-INF folder ?
6. Do we have to create explicitly for a web application and is it mandatory?

Thanks
Kawa

Hi,
If you are deploying your app as a .war file then that war will have a manifest file in which you can specify the dependencies(means any libraries your app needs).

The META-INF in your jar can have tag files under META-INF/tags directory etc etc.

Best thing to do is make a war file out of your web application and you will get the answer of all your questions.

Hope that helps.

Sawan
