Hi,
In Case Of TagFiles The
<%@ tag body-content=" " %>
Can We Use The body-content Value As A JSP.
Because In HF S&J I Have Read That The Possible Values Are scriptless,tag-dependent,empty.
Cann't We Use body-content value As A jsp.
Regards,
Prasad

Hi,

According with the spec, you can use the following values in the body-content attribute: scriptless|tagdependent|empty"

Cheers,

Rodrigo

Have to remember it if you want to take scwcd. Still remember there is a question regarding it when I took it. (not sure if I am allowed to say it here )

I don't understand the difference between scriptlessand tagdependent attributes. Both of them appears to be disabling the scripting inside the body of the tag used to invoke the tag file. What could be the specific difference?

Hi,

If you define scriptless in body-content you can use template text, EL and JSP standard actions.

When you use tagdependent, the fragment must echo the contents
of the body when invoked, in other words, everything you put in the tag body (EL, JSP standard actions and scripting!) will not be evaluated at translation process.
I think it depends of tag implementation.

Cheers,

Rodrigo

As I understand it:
scriptless means that you're not allowed to have any scriptlets, expressions etc within the tag body (though you can have EL & standard actions)
tagdependant means that you can put any text inside that tags (ie. scriptlets, EL etc etc), but that they won't be evaluated - they'll just get treated as plain template text.
