hi Pals,

I am preparing with the HF book.
All the questions it has at the end of the chapters relate to specs.
Are the specs so important for the exam??
Do we need to memorize whats there in the specs??
Can any one post the links to the specs apart for the three links given in the book??

Are the real exam questions related to whats there in the specs??
I am worried about reading specs because i am new to JSP and Servlets and after practising every example from the book regarding JSP's and Servlets..I am now confortable working with them..But are specs for people like me who are new to the technology???Can I understand them??Just let me know if I need to memorize them...

Thanks in advance,

Javainn

hi javainn,

All the questions it has at the end of the chapters relate to specs.
The information in them is almost always covered in the book too, but they reference the specs on many of the questions so you have a resource to look at.

Are the specs so important for the exam??
Well, the exam is based on the specs, so yeah, it is important. But the study books, especially HFS&J, are baased on the specs too, so you can get the same basic informatin out of the study books. You don't need to study the specs to do well on the test.

Do we need to memorize whats there in the specs??
Ideally you won't need to memorize anything. It is much easier if you understand the material. And the material covered in the specs is pretty close to the same material that is in the book.

Can any one post the links to the specs apart for the three links given in the book??
Follow the directions on page xxvi of HFS&J and download the final release for each of the three specs. You can open them in pdf format. Once you are past the table of contects and in to the actual spec, it reads just like a technical book.

Are the real exam questions related to whats there in the specs??
Again, the exam is based on the specs. But so is HFS&J, so you should be fine.

I am worried about reading specs because i am new to JSP and Servlets
You don't need the specs for the exam, but it won't hurt you to look at them. I think you will find them easier to understand than you are expecting.

Glad I could help. I still think you should at least download the specs and look at them. I am sure you won't have any trouble reading and comprehending them, and it is good to have them as a resource.
