Hi,

most of the people use "Head First Servlets & JSP"... this book is specifically for SCWCD... I am also using it...

Regards

Hi Ramu,

HFSJ + Enthuware Mock exams !!

The right and shortcut way of becoming SCWCD!

All the best !

Hi,
I cleared SCJP in Feb with 93 %, I have been working with servlets(not JSPs) forthe last 1.5 yrs. Want to take advantage of the Java Certification 25% discount scheme and do a certification on SCWCD,

I wud be using the computer at my home for preparation,
can someone who has cleared it let me know what else i need other than
a tomcat server, a database and an java/servlet editor ?

How long it will take me to prepare, I am ready to put in around 6-8 hrs a week . Thanks in advance
Regards,
Manish

Manish you dont need database or java/servlet editor a simple editor like EditPlus, or TextPad will do.

You need HFSJ book (Head First Servlets and JSP)

The book's preface will tell you what to download (Apart from Tomcat, You would need to download 6 things: Servlets API and Specification PDF, JSP API and Specifications PDF, JSTL API and Specification PDF)

As you go along in book, you would be doing hands on whatever you study. Once the book is completed, you can start with giving mock exams. Normally people use Enthuware, otherwise also you would find many links from this forum itself.

6-8 hours a week is less I guess, try to devote 2 hr a day, that is 14 hr a week.

All the best!
