exception type tag + checked exception

Hi,
P 595 of HFSJsays that the exception type can be any checked excpetion as long as the checked ecxeption class is on the container's classpath. Can someone please explain what does this statement means.

I think it just wants to make sure you understand that you've got to use a class that exists in your project. In other words, which is somehow in your classpath. So the container can recognize it.
