Which version of java should be used for Tomcat 5.0?

I am getting the following error when i use Java 1.4.1

javax.servlet.ServletException: org/apache/jsp/test_jsp (Unsupported major.minor version 49.0)
org.apache.jasper.servlet.JspServlet.service(JspServlet.java:256)
javax.servlet.http.HttpServlet.service(HttpServlet.java:856)

Thanks in advance
Shrimon

Hi,

From what I remember Tomcat 5.0.x is Java 1.4.x compatible and Tomcat is Java 1.5.x compatible.
I can't seem to find this on the jakarta website though, to confirm it.
