Hi,
I have finished SCJP a day before yesterday.I got 81 %. And now i m looking forward to give SCWCD. Currently I am working on C / Unix. I dont have any work experience of Java/JSP/Servlet and also do not have any idea about jsp and servlets. Is it possible to do SCWCD without having any experience of JSP/Servlet?
I followed Khalid Mughal guide for the scjp. As I covered only SCJP stuff....I don't know about File management,Applet. Does due to lack of knowlegde , is SCWCD possible? Or we need to learn these things and then start for JSP and Servlet.
And I want to know which book should I refer. Which gives me basic knowlegde to understand concepts of JSP and Servlet and also I can do SCWCD Exam with good marks.
Thanks...

Hi,

Firstly well done on passing SCJP.

Yes it is possible but it is a lot of hard work. There are a number of books around that can help you out. If I was you I beofre launching into the study guides I would look at the free stuff available on the web. This will give you an idea of what it is all about, as if you have never done web stuff it is a big leap, and a whole paradigm shift.

Once you have looked at that stuff there are several books around to help you prepare for the exam. Head Fist Servlets and Jsp's (HFSJ) is the one that most people recommend, but its style doesn't suit all. It is worth getting (I Think, although I find it difficult to learn from - too much clutter for my liking) just because the authors co wrote the exam and therefore the questions are on par with the exam (Note they are not the same questions).

Go For It. Ask lots of questions here and attempt and get working all the examples you come across until you undersatnd things fully.
