Hi,

I am using Weblogic 8.0 and jdk1.4. But, still i am unable to get the desired output from ELs. Actually its not even recognising as EL. Its considering it as a simple plain HTML text.

Please let me know do i neeed to give any special tag or some other configurations for the same.

Regards,

try adding this line on top of your jsp:

<%@ page isELIgnored ="false" %>

if you set the variable to false you have to this on all jsp pages ..instead of just try to use latest xml tag declaration in web.xml which will enable EL by default

What is the version of ur tomcat, since EL is only from 5.0.x.

Also, el-ignore in web.xml is TRUE by default.

weblogic 8.0 supports servlet 2.3 and jsp 1.2

and for using el you require a container which supports jsp 2.0

the future version of weblogic 9.0 which is still in beta will be supporting servlet 2.4 and jsp 2.0

better try using tomcat 5
