Hi,
The difference between:
Sun Certified Programmer for the Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition 1.4 (CX-310-035)
and
Sun Certified Programmer for the Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition 1.4 Upgrade Exam (CX-310-036)
Is that:
If you had passed earlier version of:
Sun Certified Programmer for the Java 2 Platform, say
Sun Certified Programmer for the Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition 1.2 (CX-310-025)
Then you could simply take:
Sun Certified Programmer for the Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition 1.4 Upgrade Exam (CX-310-036)
And it will upgrade your earlier version(1.2) to 1.4 (You wouldn't need to take the full scale version of the
test, that is:
Sun Certified Programmer for the Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition 1.4 (CX-310-035)
In order to take the:
Sun Certified Web Component Developer for the Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition 1.4 (CX-310-081)
All you need is just pass any version (that's it, any version) of
SCJP.
So, you have it.
You can look at what Sun says about it:
From Sun:
"Certification consists of one exam and requires Sun Certified Programmer for Java 2 Platform (any edition) status."
Hope this helps:
