Hi all,

I am new to this forum and i am in a fix right now. I am not sure if i am ready for the exam although it has been booked for the 10th of September.
I have scored above 75% consistently on JWeb Plus , Certgear, J2EEcertificate.com and jdiscuss mock exams but in the final HFSJ coffee cram exam i managed to score only 50%.

This question is for all the guys who have appeared for the SCWCD 1.4 exam. Do you think i am ready for the exam??? please help me guys!!!

Thanks in advance!!!

Cheers

Hi,

Most people who have done the exam recently have reported that they get between 10% and 20% more for their exam than they did for the final coffee cram exam at the back of HFSJ.

I think from memory you need 64% to pass the exam. So you may be cutting it close. however you still have several days to pick up a small amount of knowledge to get the 64%.

So my suggestions, go back to the coffee cram exam and list the areas that you went wrong, ie tag files, custom tags, deployment descripor, authentication, etc. Then write some notes or flash cards and memorize the stuff, you don't need to spend a lot of time a day memorizing a small amount of knowledge, and it is amazing when you start looking for 5 or 10 minute gaps whilst waiting for something, just how many you can find. Look back through the list at some of the questions, without looking at the answers that others have supplied come up with your own answers and then check them against what others have said, and against what actually happens, also answer new posts (Credit for this suggestion goes to Bert - was his suggestion to someone else several days back).

Lastly if you take the exam in several days, I would strongly encourage you to take your exam results and spend time going back through the areas you got wrong in the exam and learn them, make sure you understand them before moving on, to another area.

HTH

Hi...

I passed the SCWCD with 89%. I used JWebPlus too.. It is hard to know if you are ready .. But I hope this will help you..

My scores in JWebPlus (during the last week of preparation before the exam)

76% -> 76% -> 71% -> 76% -> 82% -> 92% -> 86% ...

So, I think that your average score is not bad. Study EL and Tags. And do not forget about Patterns.. around 7 questions about it.

Hi All,

Thanks guys!!! I will revise tags and EL before taking the exam. I think my scores are border line in those areas which is 62%. I think the pass mark for SCWCD is 62% and not 64% correct me if I am wrong guys!!!

Do you guys have any other suggestions that I can look into before I take the exam?? Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Cheers

Hi,

If tags is a weak area then definately revise there. I am not sure what other people experience, but I had what seemed like a like of questions related to tags in one way or another. It seemed like about a third of the exam had something to do with tags, some of the questions where not related to tags but the example code included tags, other questions only just touched tags barely, but the point is if they are a weak point that is a lot of questions to struggle with.

Good luck with it all.

Hi All,

I have decided to go ahead and take the test on the 10th of September. I had the same kind of feeling when I took SCJP though I had very less time for SCJP which was 2 weeks with a discounted exam voucher where the expiry date was just around the corner and I was working long hours and weekends as well at that point of time however I still managed to get 78% for SCJP.

Comparatively I have had more time to prepare for SCWCD and the only exam I have not fared well so far is the HSFJ final mock exam. I think I will give it a shot.

Wish me luck guys!!! If you guys could share your notes and also any mock exams that you have for SCWCD 1.4 with me that would be really great.

Thanks in advance!!!

Cheers.
