HFSJ says that to start the Tomcat we should run the startup.sh.
But when i go into the bin directory(in command prompt) and try running thet startup.sh, it opens up the startip.sh in notepad instead of running it.

Can someone please let me know how to start the Tomcat.

Thanks.....

You can try activate it from Service. For Windows XP,

1. Open Services window,
"Control Panel" --> "Administrative Tools" --> "Computer Management" --> "Services"

2. Select "Apache Tomcat" and start it by click on start botton or Run start from Action menu.
