Hi there,

Head First Servlet, p. 737, says that 8 features Struts adds to a front controller:

DataSources, CustomTags, Global Exception Handling, etc.

How are these functionality of a front controller? For example, should not CustomTags belong to the view? and exception handling belonging to either the View or Model? In other words, front controller is a simple component that handles the initial requests.

What am I missing?

Thanks.
Yan

Never mind about the wording. I think the author just means "in addition to benefit of Front Controller pattern, Struts also offers these..." (and none of these are related to Front Controller except automated request dispatching)
