Question from JWebPlus

+Pie Number of slices to send: Send
You need to send large amount of binary data from the browser to a servlet to be processed. (Say, you want to upload a file.) What HTTP method would you use?

Options

Select 1 correct option.

GET

POST

HEAD

HIDDEN

PUT

I answered PUT, but the correct answer seems to be POST. Can anybody explain.
+Pie Number of slices to send: Send
There is a subtle difference between a POST and a PUT request. POST means we are sending some data to a resource for processing but for a PUT request we are sending some data that we want to be associated with a URI.

Hope this helps.
