Pls can some explain what's wrong.
I'm using tomcat 5.0.25.
When using el in my jsp, it was ignored.
but when i used <%@ page isELIgnored="false" %> in the
Page, it worked. Also, i tried configuring el in the DD,
it was ignored. The following was how, i tried it in the DD.

<jsp-config>
<jsp-property-group>
<url-pattern>*.jsp</url-pattern>
<el-ignored> false </el-ignored>
</jsp-property-group>
</jsp-config>

The main question : is el enabled by default ?

With Servlet 2.4 and JSP 2.0 EL is enabled by default.

You still have to specify it in your DD with tomcat.

<web-app

xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"
xsi:schemaLocation="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/j2ee/web-app_2_4.xsd" version="2.4">
