The below implicit objects are a bit confusing, how is page different from pageContext and whats the purpose of config ?

page – java.lang.object, refers to the page’s servlet instance
pageContext – javax.servlet.jsp.PageContext, refers to the page’s environment
config – javax.servlet.ServletConfig, refers to the servlet’s configuration

Hi,

I think it is the instance of the JSP page's servlet, processing the current request. Something like "this" keyword.

Breakdown of the implicit objects

In the real world, you probably won't ever use page and rarely (if ever) use config.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
