I'm studying for the SCWCD exam and have purchased the Head First book to help me prepare for it. I love the book but have a few problems with it. The coffee cram exam answers show references to where you can read up on that specific problem. Example: page 273, question 3 has answer A as being correct. I went back through the capter and couldn't find where it stated that fact. The question has a reference to Servlet V2.4 p. 59. In the 'What you need for this book' (near the beginning) section of the book it doesn't mention any other books that are needed. It does say I need a copy of the spec and Servlet 2.4 JSR#154 is mentioned but I've downloaded that and can't find page listing. I've purchased three Head First book to date and I'm pleased with them for the most part but I'm a bit frustrated with this.

I'd also like to find this book in pdf form. I wish a CD came with the book so that I could read on my computer.

In advance, thanks for your help.

It it there on pg 59 under SRV 7.5 Session Timeouts in the Servlet spec.

"By definition if the timeout period for a session is set to -1, the session will never expire"

Actually, I got caught the same way. I just read through the chapter and did not pay much attention to the spec and started answering the mock at the end of the chapter and got a few surprises. I think they do it intentionally to let you know you cannot take specs easily and that you have to read through them carefully to catch the important points. Hope it helps.

Also if you did not already know, the book does have some minor errors here and there and this is the link to the errata:

Thanks Sue! I don't know what the heck I Googled before but I just found the pdf version of the specs. It's nice to get quick kind responses to what some people might think as dumb questions.
