hi satya ,
first of all receive my heartiest congratulation for such a good percentage.

I myself is preparing for SCWCD and i found HFSJ(head first servlet and jsp) a very good book for the exam preparation(in fact evry rancher is using the same book and specs .so u should fetch a copy of the book today itself ).

Regarding preparation time ,it actually depends how much time u devote to the same(and also ur experience level).

My best wishes are with u .

thanks

Ok, actually i am 2004 pass out but yet to get a job.
I was thinking of clearing scwcd 1st then try for job.
But some of my seniors suggested me that 1st to try
for job and then try for other certification.
Even you are my junior batch but still i am asking
as you have realtime experience, what do you think.
What will be better.

hi satya,

According to me u r thinking right .And there is a reason for that.
Even if u for go for job now (with scjp1.4 91%),no body can stop u from getting a good job .
But if u go with SCWCD in hand ,u will get a much much better job,a handsome salary and a good job profile.(i am telling this cos i hav seen it)

And u can devote urself fully for the exam and i am sure u will crack the
it in max of 2 months(again the time u devote matters).{i find it difficult to devote even a hour for exam prep due to my hectic shedule}

So according to me just wait another 2 months ,get SCWCD and then
go and rock d world

Hi there
I just cleared SCJD, and I want to go for SCWCD (since it's very much in demand). My experience in Web Development is not great. What do you suggest guys, is HTML and Network Protocols are something that you learn withing the context of studying SCWCD, or SCWCD is another layer above basic Web Development Technologies which means I should study first the prtotocols etc, and then move on to SCWCD?

Thanx in advance
Hatim

Hi All,
I have stated working toward my SCWCD examinations. I found the following two books usefull for the preparation.

1. SCWCD Exam Study Kit Second Edition - Manning
Java Web Component Developer Certification
Hanumant Deshmukh, Jignesh Malavia, and Matthew Scarpino
2. Head First Servlets and JSP: Passing the Sun Certified Web Component Developer Exam (SCWCD) (Paperback)
by Bryan Basham, Kathy Sierra, Bert Bates

Is there anybody who uses the first book(manning) I mentioned? is the specified version(second - 2005)available in Indian print?

If anybody who is having the e-book of manning, please do share with me.

Mani kanth,
Couls ypu please share the study materials with me as well.

My mail ID: [email protected]

Thanks in advance,
Sanka,N.
