This question has been asked many times before - try searching the forum. The word direct from Sun is that they're aren't planning an SCWCD 5.0, or at least not for the next few years. Personally, I can't see the point of creating an SCWCD 5 exam as the only major change in the Web tier in J2EE 5 is the addition of JavaServer Faces, which isn't really a suitable candidate for testing on an exam (it's just full of syntax).

Java SE 5.0 had some major new language features: generics, annotations, auto(un)boxing and enumerations to name a few... it makes sense to test these, but J2EE 5 adds no such new features - at least not in the Web tier.

So I think you'd be safe preparing for SCWCD 1.4 now, and if you're interested in J2EE 5 there are additional chapters in my new book (available very soon!) which cover all the non-Faces updates.
