Hello,

Just came back from the exam, passed with 94% score. I had 4 questions wrong. I'd like to thank all of you here who helped me on my way to SCWCD, especially big thanks to Charles Lyons and Narendra Dhande. You both are doing a great job here! Thanks you!

I had a bunch of question on custom tags, I didn't count but I really expected less that what I had. I also had quite a lot questions on tag libraries, my advice is to focus on this topic. As for patterns, the questions are easy and I mean EASY. When reading forum I've almost always seen opinions that patters are the toughest part, in my opinion this is not true. Do your homework on EL, and on tag library descriptor, this is a must.

As a side note, I'll have to repeat what I said after my SCJP 5.0. I don't understand why one, after exam, can't see which questions were answered wrong. Are they afraid someone could spot a mistake in a question? I know it sounds a little ludicrously to insinuate that some exam question might be wrong, but I just would like to make sure that the reason of the score was my too little knowledge not the question mistake.

Anyway, good luck to all that are going to take the exam!

P.S. Sorry Charles I didn't answer to your question in my other topic, my internet connection was down from the yesterday afternoon till today morning, but didn' have time to reply, I would have missed my train

Wow Aleksander !!! That's AWESOME score !

Once I've seen your study journey since SCJP, I'm really glad to see your success now.

So what comes next ? Are you still planning to travel to USA ?

Could you please share with us how long time did you spend a day and how many days did you spend a week ?

How consistent you were in the mock exams you wrote ?

In fact, you are a case of success and I think you should put your story on the Wall of Fame.

C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S.

Keep in mind that you have a BIG fan.

I wish you all the best.

Edisandro you're on your way too! You scored over 90% on SCJP, so over 90% on SCWCd won't be a problem at all if you put the same effort. I must admit that I learned a lot from our discussions on SCJP forum, to bad you weren't here when I was preparing to SCWCD, I'm sure it would be mutually benefical

Yes, I got the visa and going at the end of June, have to earn for my studies and some new books As for certification, I'm planning to learn XML while being there and pass the exam when I come back. I'll not have much time because of a lot of work, but if I manage to find time to learn for about one hour a day, I should be able to learn a lot, coz I'll be there for four months. Next in the queue are SCJD and SCBCD. When I get them all, I'll start looking for some training or internship, hopefully the certificates will help me to finally find something.

As for time spent on learining for SCWCD, well... I'm sorry Edisandro, but I cannot give you accurate answer. As you know I passed my SCJP on March 24th and started learning several days later. Read HFSJ once to get familiar with the technology, and then another one time focusing on each topic and making notes. Later I just was reading the board and making my own website based on Servlets and JSP. I think that's the best way of learining. I wrote a lot of small programs while preparing to SCJP, and decided to create something in JSP and Servlets too. Then you just don't have to "force" yourself to memorize all the DD or TLD elements or how to use custom tags or how to use tag files, filters etc. You just work on it and it stays in your head If you want to you can check the site out, I'll leave my Tomcat and SQL started, but the site isn't finished, I had to stop because of lack of the time. Don't be discouraged by long time of loading, my connection is very poor and sometimes it is completely down.

Regarding mocks, I did mocks from HFSJ and Enthuware JWebPlus, scored around 80% in all.
