Assume tag handler extends TagSupport.How to get attribute "abc" that is in application scope??

Is this correct?If not,please tell the correct answer

to get the attribute 'abc' this should do.

pageContext.getAttribute("abc",PageContext.APPLICATION_SCOPE)

this method call would return an object of type java.lang.Object, so be sure to cast it to type 'abc' explicitly.
