Hi ,
I want to confirm the below statement.

"The order of elements in deployment descriptor is important. The elements must follow a specific order."

Is it correct?

If so, I am keeping the elements of DD and they were working fine.(Tomcat).

Any idea?

yes order matters,
have a google on it, and you will get some bunch of instructions regarding order in web.xml

This is true with Servlet specification 2.3 and older versions. (Tomcat 4.x)

With Servlet 2.4 (Tomcat 5.x), the order is not important.
