Study companion and SCWCD 1.5
Charles,

Your book is a Study Companion for the SCWCD 1.4, but you've decided to add some materials about J2EE5. (Servlets2.5, JSP2.1 and EL2.1) What motivated you to do so, ?
And do you think that the content of the specs will make the next SCWCD (1.5?) more difficult ?

Firstly, I very much doubt there will be a Java EE 5 edition of the SCWCD - it takes an investment of money and time for every exam created, and there are very few changes between the J2EE 1.4 and Java EE 5 Web specifications. It isn't worth the effort.

As for the additional chapters, they were motivated by the fact that there are very few changes, and the reader might like to get completely up-to-date after they've passed the exam. Unfortunately, many of the features in EL 2.1 don't really have any bearing outside of a context such as JavaServer Faces (which is too big to be covered in just a few chapters), but I've seen some abysmal attempts to explain deferred expressions, so I thought I could offer a clear explanation which would allow the reader to pick up any other JSF text and find it a breeze!

Needless to say, there are no questions on the Java EE 5 chapters and none of the content there will be examined in the exam!
