My book covers the SCWCD 1.4 exam completely, with a little extra detail on top. How long it takes to prepare will largely depend on your experience already; if you've been working with the technology for some time, many of the earlier chapters you should find quite straightforward. The relatively nice thing about the book is that the objectives are broken down into lots of short chapters rather than only a few long ones... this means you can set yourself a pace and goal, and fit your studying into a regular work routine. For the same reason, it also acts as a handy reference.
