Please confirm:

1. encodeURL and encodeRedirectURL needed a path relative to the context.
Specified with a "/" - (Mandatory). So if we have "/foo.jsp" for an application "tester" - It is translated to tester/foo.jsp?

2. encodeURL and encodeRedirectURL - perform url encoding (always) and url rewriting on need basis ( based on if cookies are enabled or not and context is same/difft).

Thanks to confirm,
Regards,
Shivani.

I agree with number 2, but not number 1.
I think that "/foo.jsp" will still be "/foo.jsp". If anybody could confirm that.

Hi,

As per my understanding .. when passed as " /foo.jsp " , container will search the jsp in the current directory.

Please refer the errata.... '/' means relative to the web app not the application

URLs are encoded in both the cases, first one when we are doing like send Direct and other sone when we are redirecting. URL rewriting is a fall back mechanism in case Cookies are not supported
