contrast in HFSJ - please help

+Pie Number of slices to send: Send
Hi all,

I am reading chapter on Design Patterns. I found this while reading it -
Page 727, 2nd line says "....coarse-grained message."
But page 748, 2nd bix, 2nd bullet says ".....fine grained call"

In effect, page 727 says - the service provides data in coarse grained message. where as page 748 says - the service provides data in a fine grained message.

If reducing network traffic is the basic principle of Transfer Object, then
the service must PROVIDE data in COARSE fashion.

Then why come a contrast in the above two pages ?

Thanks in advance,

I think the English just isn't particularly clear on Pg 748. I think it should read:

"Minimizes the performance impact on the web tier. If the remote components' data is accessed with fine-grained calls then these are collected together and replaced with a single, coarse-grained call."

Others agree?
There’s no place like 127.0.0.1. But I'll always remember this tiny ad:
