can any one tell me what is the meaning the last bullet on page 749 of HFSJ ? With reference to filters, please explain the terms 'callback' and 'inline' methods.

I don't have my book in front of me, but "callback" usually refers to methods that the container calls. Inline methods are probably methods that are meant to be called by your code.
