I passed the SCWCD nearly four years ago and, this past Saturday, finally upgraded my certification to the 1.4 version. The upgrade exam is a slightly smaller version of the regular exam that can only be taken by people that have passed a previous version of the SCWCD.

I used HFSJ and Charles Lyons' Study Companion, as well as the mock exam that Charles sells (the one advertised in the banner ads here). All were great resources.

My final score was 84%, though I'm pretty sure I got some of the drag 'n' drop questions wrong out of my own impatience and stupidity. I know for sure that I answered my final question correctly but that I also never clicked its "Done" button before the "Next" button. I'm pretty sure this caused to me to get that question marked incorrect, as I scored 0% on the topic that this question would have fallen under. I can remember clicking "Done" on some of the other exhibit questions, but not all of them.

About 8 of my 50 questions were on my favorite topic, Design Patterns, and I easily scored 100% on them. I've been working on an article that covers the SCWCD Design Patterns and I hope to post the final product here for everyone in the next week or two.

I don't remember seeing a single question on dynamic attributes. Weird. There was a HUGE focus on the deployment descriptor. I think there were only one or two questions on API stuff, which was something I remembered the exam focusing on when I took it years ago.

Thanks to all the kind folks here who contribute to this community.
