Could anyone please confirm this? It's not there in the list when you go to http://www.oreilly.com/catalog/headservletsjsp/errata/headservletsjsp.confirmed

Page 336 Question 6

Option E is checked
It sez---> <%@ page isELIgnored="true" %>
Option E> This page directive will only turn off EL evaluation if the DD declares a <el-ignored>true</el-ignored> element with a URL pattern that includes this JSP.

But I think this option should be unchecked as it is incorrect...the page directive takes priority over the DD setting and is not dependent on the DD element.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Sayak,

Firstly I have written a BIG note for the clarification BUT then after writing I realised that on the page 336 of HFSJ Question 6 option E would be correct IF it contains::

<el-ignored>false</el-ignored>

Please confirm understanding of both sayak and me.

Good catch Sayak. Lets see what other ranchers say on this.

Thanks for the clarification Marc....actually I'm using an Indian Reprint (September 2006).....maybe you are using a recent edition....

Well Siddharth, what you said is right but its not a mandatory thing for the page directive to be used ....Thanks for showin' interest
