I put

<jsp-config>
<jsp-property-group>
<url-pattern>*.jsp</url-pattern>
<scripting-invalid>true</scripting-invalid>
<el-ignored>true</el-ignored>
</jsp-property-group>
</jsp-config>

in my web.xml file.

But in my jsp pages every thing(EL,scripting) works fine.

I am using tomcat 5.5

Did you set isELIgnored to false in your JSP file ?

Now it working. But i don't know why the container takes too long to activate the changes that i made in DD.

I did nothing. after 15 minutes i run the code again then its working.

I also faced a similar problem.

I noticed that, when the el-ignored tag in web.xml is changed, JSP's have to be re-compiled by the container for the change to take effect. For this I edited the jsp file without making any changes and re-tried the app.
