If a tag file is deployed in a JAR(under WEB-INF/lib) under META-INF/tags and the tag-file has a TLD(with declarations including <uri>tagFile</uri> what do we mention in the JSP that calls this tag file....
Do we put <%@ prefix="myTag" uri="tagFile" %>
OR
Do we put <%@ prefix="myTag" tagdir="/META-INF/tags" %>

I think it would be the former one but I'd just like to confirm.....many thanks in advance for anybody answering this

You still use the former. The container will resolve it.

If you deploy tag files using jar then you must use uri not tagdir

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
