Can anyone tell me the exact difference between a Component and a Service.
A component inturn is a service. But why do we it separately. Is reusable services are called components.?

In my experience, developers use the word component to refer to a piece of reusable, modular code that can be used to speed the development process. In that sense, "component" describes how the softwae is put together internally.

In contrast, I typically see theh word "service" used to describe external features of software -- e.g. that the software is self-describing and available through, say, a SOAP protocol.

Services can be built using components.
