From my experience with the SCJP and from the "Coffee Cram" questions in "Head First Servlets and JSP" I believe the hardest thing for me on the SCWCD exam will be rote memorization. Frankly, the kind of memorization that my tools normally do for me. Even though I've developed J2EE web components for several years, I certainly don't remember the exact spelling of the methods in HttpServletRequest. And I definitely don't remember all the attributes in the DD.

Therefore, as my last step before taking the exam, I'm creating a representative DD and a "cheat sheet" with the most important things to memorize.

I see another poster has submitted a sample web.xml. I'll be glad to post my cheat sheet. However, I'd like to first find out whether this has already been done. If not, and I post my notes, perhaps there might be a collective effort to refine it and add it to the FAQ?

Rob, you might want to contact moderator of this forum - Marc Peabody.
He can probably answer your question. And maybe host your study material on JavaRanch server and add to FAQ, as they did for my SCWCD Study Guide.

regards,
MZ

Funny you should mention this, Rob. I'm actually throwing together a cram sheet myself for a class I'm giving tomorrow on SCWCD at my employer.

There are lots of great study notes and such around here but not much as far as a condensed form of the rote memorization material. I'd be more than happy to have the Ranch host your contributions (giving you the credit of course).

If you have something together already, Rob, please send it over to peabody @at@ javaranch.com - we can chat over email about this. Thanks in advance for your willingness to contribute to the Ranch.
