It will be the same method as the one sent by the request you are returning to. In fact, it will send an identical request.
One exception to this is if the server caused a redirect for the request that you are returning to - then the browser will return to the request caused by the redirect, which I believe would always be a GET. It is common to use redirects with the PRG Pattern to avoid duplicate POST submissions.
