Today I passed the exam scoring 89%. I am thankful to authors of HFSJ and SCWCD Exam Study Kit for their great books, Mikalai Zaikin for superb notes and all the ranchers for their help and guidance. Below are the details of my prep and some mistakes that cost me around 6 7 %
Prep
• Started with HFSJ and in first go, I read the entire book without solving the exercise question.
• Started the second round going through the book word by word and this time solving all exercises at the end of each chapter. It took me around 3 months to complete first 2 rounds (I hadnt been a regular reader , which is one of the mistakes.
• At 15th March, I got my registration to appear in test at 26 March and started final preparation.
• I went through JSP chapters of SCWCD Exam study kit (as my score in jsp portion of SCWCD exercises was lower).
• After finishing jsp portion from Deshmukh, I started 3rd round of HFSJ. This time reading some highlighted text (in addition to some superb heading and bold text by authors, I highlighted important description of each topic in my second round.), solved the all exercises again and burnt the concepts in the questions that went wrong. Then I revised the Desmukh book JSP portion (important highlighted points). I took me around 4 full days to finish this round.
• Went through Mikalai Zaikin notes. Marking some important points.
• Started fourth round of HFSJ, reading important points and finished it in a day.
• On Sunday I sat down for HFSJ final mock and finished scoring 81%.
• On D-Day (today) woke up at 6 AM, revised HFSJ (5th go) and finished it in two and half hours. Had a birds eye view of Mikalai Zaikin notes and points written by me during my preparation course and went for the paper.
• Well exam was quite cool much like HFSJ final mock finish in one and half hour scoring 89 %.
• Mistakes
• Couldnt study regularly during first two rounds.
• Got registration date before finishing my prep (the biggest one). It cost me much as due to time constraint
• I couldnt practice example programs
• Couldnt practice mock exams
• Didnt got time to read specs
•
ConclusionFirst finish your preparation (including all rounds of revisions, practice programs, specs, monk exams) and then appear in final mock exam of HFSJ (do it once after your full preparation to exactly analyze your prep) Depending on your score get yourself registered for final exam.

CONGRATS ON YOUR SCORE

VERY SOUND ADVICE FOR PEOPLE PREPARING FOR SCWCD EXAM

IF YOU DON'T MIND MY ASKING, DID YOU THINK NOT READING SPECS TAKES A HUGE TOLL ON A PERSON'S SCORE

SOMEHOW MAY BE ITS ONLY ME, STUDYING SPECS IS N'T A PAGE TURNER AS THE HEAD FIRST SERIES

Hi jethani

As far as my idea is concern, with HFSJ one should go through specs as it tells you 80% and left remaining on you to explore from specs. You can take dynamic-attributes for example. They are not explained in Chapter but the exercise does have question related to it. So if you want to be in elite group of 90% plus, you should study specs at least those topics reffered in HFSJ.

Happy SCWCDing
