Is this cert supposed to prepare someone for 'web programmer' role?

If so, what other TECHINICAL skills would be needed with this cert to pursue such a position with realistic expectations? What do you recommend?

A Java/J2EE web programmer, yes. It would also be good to get familiar with JavaScript/AJAX/CSS/HTML and maybe an application framework or two like Struts or the newer JavaServer Faces.

With the working knowledge of SCJP and SCWCD, though they do not guarantee employment, you should be a able to land a job somewhere easily in today's economy.

Yeah, that's what I thought from looking at differen't job postings.

I got the head first html/css book on the way, though I really only need css material.

What about photoshop/flash? Is that more for 'web designer'? Is there really that much a difference in the job market between designer and programmer?
