JSP Page buffering

Does JSP page buffering means that the response is bufferred til the end of the jsp page and then sent through the stream??

The buffer will also be flushed when full. You can set the size of the buffer with the "buffer" attribute of the page directive.
This is true if the "autoFlush" attribute is set to true. If set to false, an exception will be thrown when the buffer is filled.
"autoflush"'s default is true, and the default size of the buffer is 8kb.

A lot of confusion prevailing when using standard actions like jsp:forward and buffering capabilities in jsp. Can anyone give me a clear picture putting all these components related to buggering in a jsp?? Maybe I can try adding it to my Scwcd Hints page...
