Hello,

I wanted to know what is the correct usage of <taglib> element in the web.xml file.

I have seen that <taglib> is used as the direct sub-element under the <web-app> tag.
<web-app ...>
<taglib>
<taglib-uri>URI</taglib-uri>
<taglib-location>/WEB-INF/mytags.tld</taglib-location>
</taglib>
</web-app>

Also, I have seen that <taglib> is used as a sub-element of <jsp-config> element.

<web-app ...>
<jsp-config>
<taglib>
<taglib-uri>URI</taglib-uri>
<taglib-location>/WEB-INF/mytags.tld</taglib-location>
</taglib>
</jsp-config>
</web-app>

Can anybody tell me which is the correct way to use a <taglib> element?

thanks,
swapna.

As of servlet 2.4, there is no taglib under web-app. It's in jsp-config.

There was a taglib under web-app up to version 2.3.
