I want to display the data fetched in from database after every 10 secs in a jsp page.what should be done from database connection point of view and what should be done from jsp point of view.Provide me some strategy to deal with this problem.

How does this relate to the SCWCD exam? Have you tried the Http meta refresh concept, i.e.

<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="5; url=/someurl/">

we even have a a HTTP header by the name REFRESH. Make your servlet say

response.setHeader("Refresh", int seconds);
