Guys,

I have a small doubt regarding to META-INF directory. They say that it acts as a repository for all the JAR's a web app might need. For example, I found this definition in David Bridgewater's book that says, "Each WAR can now reference the JARs it needs in this common repository by using an existing mechanism: a manifest file. This file is called MANIFEST.MF, and it must be located in the META-INF directory in the WAR file." This being the case, how can one WAR file access the META-INF of another WAR file where the repository of the jars are located?

HI,

we need to include the depended jar's in META-INF of every WAR file. META-INF is the part of war file hwre you will refer the depend jar files.

if you don't have ant depend jar files it will be empty.but one war file won't refer the another war file MEAT-INF directory.

Regards,
Ravi.

In manifest files, you can define the dependencies. please check on web for the exact syntax of manifest file commands. While deploying the application , the tools can use this dependency mapping to jar files for existence.

Thanks
