Regarding jsp:useBean

I saw in one of whizlab's trial questions correct options the 'type' attribute as java.lang.String.Is this a correct usage?

Hi Renu.

Yes, you can use java.lang.String as the type of a bean.

But then how will we define getter and setter methods?Its mandatory for javabeans right?
