Hi folks..

one more doubt...should the welcome-file value begin with "/" or not.
Because in HFSJ it says it should not begin or end with "/" but in one of the mock papers it says it should begin with "/"..
hence please clarify!

Thanks in advance
Preeti

The welcome file entry is suppose to be relative to the path that was not found. HFSJ has an excellent explanation and example of a welcome file list as well as some questions concerning their resolution. If you try coding them into your web.xml and test different scenarios, it will become more clear to you :-)

Hi Michael,
Do you mean to say that the entry under welcome-file list need not begin with a '/' in Deployment Descriptor?

Correct. It should not start with a '/'. Although I can get it to work with a '/' at the beginning of the path on WebSphere, I always go with what HFSJ says and they say do not start the path with '/'.
