Hi,

From different threads in this forum it seems that everyone recommends HFSJ for SCWCD exam. But few people also pointed out that its approach is exam oriented(i have read the K&B SCJP book, so i know what they mean).

I need suggestions on - which might be a good book to learn starting from preliminary things & going on to advanced, not only for exam preparation, but also to understand the basics of these subject area?

Thanks in advance for any reply

This is what the Head First series is aiming at. Ok, HFSJ is exam oriented, but you'll learn all the basics without pain.

You can also consider Marty Hall's "Core Servlets & JSP" book which is freely available (first edition) in the form of PDF here.

This is one of the good books i have come across!

Also, as christophe suggested, you can go through HFSJ (Head First Servlets & JSP) which is also an excellent book and after going through the book you can straight away appear for the SCWCD exam.

Good luck!
