hi friends I have a doubt regarding <jsp:useBean> "type" attribute-if "type" is used without "class" attribute then "type" should be of what type(that is class type or abstract type or interface type). if anybody knows the answer please let me know thanks in advance

The "type" attribute can be of ... well, any type, ie, concrete class or abstract class or even an interface type.
Just think of it as a reference variable in real java code. Just like a reference variable can be of any type & still hold the reference for either its own type or a sub-type, same thing thing applies to the "type" attribute as well.
